Rajkot: A dozen sailors from Salaya town of Devbhoomi Dwarka, who have been on board a boat that had caught fireplace off Yemen coast have been rescued on Tuesday evening.
According to Adam Bhaya, president of Indian Sailing Vessels’ Association, the ship named Ratnasagar owned by Gopal Posteria had caught fireplace mid-sea off the Socotra Island.
“The ship was wearing meals grains and other fit for human consumption items weighing 500 tonne. The fireplace had engulfed the grains sacks. The team individuals of a nearby ship ‘Garibe Nawaz’ got here to the rescue of the sailors on board Ratnasagar,” stated Bhaya.
The rescued sailors have been recognized as Imran Changada, Junus Surani, Amin Theim, Farid Changada, Faizal Ker, Arfan Ker, Mohemmed Hussein, Niyazali Changada, Abbas Adam, Mehboob Raza, Shabirgani Changada and Mohemmed Hussein Angaria are from Salaya of Devbhoomi Dwarka district.
