PUNE: The Pune town crime branch on Wednesday arrested 3 men for allegedly threatening a food handcart operator and robbing him of Rs 4000 on past due Saturday night time at Maharshinagar close to Salisbury Park.
Following a tip off, the police group arrested the suspects identified as Anand alias Vanraj Madhukar Chandane (19), Anand alias Sonya Siddheshwar Dhade (19) and Mahesh alias Bala Milind Chavan (24), all residents of Taljai Pathar, Sahakarnagar.
The handcart operator Milind Rajaram Bhalerao of Maharshinagar had lodged a criticism with the Swargate police station following the robbery. According to Bhalerao’s criticism, the suspects arrived in the space around middle of the night when he used to be promoting Pav-Bhaji to the shoppers. The suspects positioned order for 3 Pav Bhaji plates.
There had been few shoppers prior to them and Bhalerao used to be serving them. The suspects had been perturbed with the delays in serving food to them. The 3 men then abused Bhalerao and beat him up. Before working away, the trio robbed money of Rs 4000 from the money box which used to be at the handcart.
A police group headed through senior inspector Rajendra Kadam, assistant inspector Vidyulata Chavan, constables Vinayak Pawar, Rahul Ghadge, Amol Pawar, Wilson D’Souza, Sachin Gaikwad, Chetan Gore and Mallikarjun Swami arrested the suspects while patrolling the Gultekdi space on Wednesday.
