BENGALURU: Thirty-two women nursing graduates from Kerala, suspected to be victims of a human trafficking racket, have been on Tuesday rescued at Kempegowda International Airport after they have been on their technique to pursue a momentary route to be told German at University of Traditional Medicine of Armenia (UTMA).
Kala Krishnaswamy, deputy commissioner of police (northeast division), mentioned police registered a case of attempted human trafficking in line with a grievance from KIA immigration officials and arrested Tony Tom, who was once taking the ladies to Armenia. Most of the ladies had studied in Mangaluru.
The police officer mentioned Tom runs an education consultancy in Mangaluru and presented to facilitate the study at UTMA. Tom was once accompanying the ladies who came to the airport on Monday evening to catch a flight for Armenia around 4am on Tuesday. Immigration officials suspected foul play as they doubted the very life of this sort of route in the college. They passed over the accused and the ladies to BIAL police for investigation.

Police mentioned the ladies discovered a newspaper ad concerning the route and contacted Tony Tom’s Hopesyn Education International in Mangaluru. The institute confident nursing scholars jobs in reputed hospitals in another country if they could discuss German they usually signed up for the German route at UTMA.
Kala mentioned each woman paid Rs 30,000 against air ticket and visa procedures and $1,200 as route fee to Tony Tom. “We’re now not sure what he would have done with the ladies in Armenia if there’s no such route at UTMA. We booked him for attempted human trafficking and arrested him,” the DCP mentioned.
BIAL police recorded the statements of all 32 women. They told police Tom had promised them go back tickets from Armenia and that the route could be over in two months.
