Bhojpur naked parading: All 20 accused convicted

ARRAH: A court here on Wednesday convicted 20 persons in reference to a three-month-old incident in which a girl was once beaten up and paraded bare through a mob which accused her of getting murdered a person.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Ramesh Chandra Dwivedi convicted all of the 20 persons named as accused in the case with regards to the incident that came about in Bihiya locality of Bhojpur district on August 20.

Among the accused, five had been held responsible of parading the woman after tearing off her garments, whilst the rest had been convicted for rioting.
The court has fastened November 30 as the date for announcing the quantum of sentence.


The incident had followed the recovery of 19-year-old Vimalesh Sah, near railway tracks in Bihiya, a day after he had long past missing from his local village of Damodarpur.


A mob had gathered on the spot and suspecting the citizens of within sight red-light area of involvement in the homicide, went at the rampage, surroundings hearth to retail outlets and hurling stones at trains passing throughout the area besides assaulting the woman.


Police had to hearth a number of rounds in the air to disperse the mob and convey the situation under regulate.


Later, with the help of CCTV pictures, 20 persons have been arrested through the police.
