Farmers, opposition to stage joint stir in Delhi against govt

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and key opposition leaders are amongst those who will sign up for over one lakh farmers as they congregate within the nationwide capital to protest towards the Centre’s “anti-farmer policies” on November 29 and 30.


The protest is a end result of various farmers’ initiatives during the last two years, including creation of two non-public member’s expenses in Parliament on behalf of the farm group difficult remunerative prices for all vegetation, and freedom from indebtedness.


The protest, organised by way of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, will see farmers adopt a 25 km ‘Kisan Mukti March’ from Bijwasan to Ramlila ground. Speaking to TOI, All India Kisan Sabha chief and CPM politburo member Hannan Mollah stated about one lakh farmers would transfer from Ramlila Maidan to Parliament Street to reiterate their call for for a distinct session of Parliament to legislate on farmers’ problems.
