NEW DELHI: Now, IndiGo flyers doing internet check-in to skip long queues at airports will need to pay for this service too. The home marketplace chief on Sunday mentioned it is going to fee "for all seats from passengers doing web check-in." Other low price carriers are more likely to follow go well with.
What this implies is that folks travelling solo or in teams k with sitting one after the other and opting for the loose heart row whilst doing internet check-in can even need to pay up on IndiGo. According to the LCC's web site, seat variety fees on IndiGo home flights are Rs 600 for any seat in row 1, 12 and 13; Rs 300 for any seat in rows 2 to 10; and Rs 200 for any seat in row 11 and the window and aisle seats from row 14 to 20.
The seats and not using a variety fees are heart ones from row 14 to 20 and all seats from row 21 to 30. People choosing these seats at internet check-in till now weren't required to pay any fees. Something which has now been discontinued for internet check-in, making it a paid service.
The airline in message to passengers mentioned: "As per our revised policy, all seats will be chargeable for web check-in. Alternatively, you may check-in at the airport for free. Seats will be assigned as per the availability."
An IndiGo spokesperson mentioned, "Based on consumer preferences, we have made some changes in pricing for advance selection of seats. While different prices for different category of seats were always there, we have further refined the price categories based on the consumer preferences observed. This is a usual practice followed by most airlines globally and in India. We are continuously evaluating consumer preferences and making pricing adjustments as per consumer demand."
