KARACHI: Pakistan's possibilities of taking part in the Hockey World Cup won some other blow after the rustic's cricket board, PCB, turned down a request for monetary support to ship the nationwide workforce for the mega event in India beginning November 28.

Dar mentioned that Mani had minced no words in stating that due to the outdated mortgage it was not imaginable for the board to give a new mortgage because it had to answer to its monetary advisors and auditors.

"Mani sahib has however assured us he will speak to the government and sponsors to help us overcome our financial crunch," Dar added.

PHF Secretary, Shahbaz Ahmed, also mentioned that the nationwide workforce's participation in the World Cup was in acute threat since the executive was yet to answer repeated requests from the PHF to release a grant of eight million Pakistani rupees.

"We have now written directly to the Prime Minister's secretariat for the grant to be released within this week or else it would be very difficult for us to send the team to India," he mentioned.

The World Cup is scheduled in Bhubaneswar from November 28 to December 16.

"If we are not able to send the team to India it will not only damage our image in world hockey but we will also face a hefty fine from the FIH," Shahbaz added.

Dar mentioned that that they had advised Mani to talk to the Prime Minister and if the government sought after they might immediately pay the resort where the Pakistan workforce will keep for the World Cup and also credit score outstanding dues of the avid gamers in their individual accounts as an alternative of giving any money to the PHF.
