Woman alleges rape by married live-in partner

SURAT: A 30-year-old married guy was booked on Thursday for allegedly raping his co-worker for over two years after promising her marriage. On coming to know that the accused was married the survivor lodged the grievance with police.

Police booked Rajhussain Basharuddin Shah, a resident of Barbodhan in Olpad of Surat district for allegedly raping the 29-year-old woman. Police is yet to arrest the accused.


In her grievance, the woman alleged that she were given married in 2008 as per her family’s wish to a person in Vadodara. But because of differences with her husband she divorced him and came back to stick with her parents in Surat in 2010. She got to work in children play space in V R Mall on Dumas Road the place she came in touch with the accused who was additionally hired in a store in the similar mall.


The duo advanced friendship and after few weeks Shah proposed to the woman. She agreed to marry Shah they usually started dwelling at a rented lodging in Piplod from August 2016. The woman stored asking Shah to get married however he stored delaying it giving other causes, she alleged.


Meanwhile, the accused stopped assembly the woman since May this 12 months without giving any causes and also didn't solution her calls. When the woman contacted Shah’s mom over telephone, she informed her that Shah had long past out together with his wife for medical checkup. Feeling cheated the survivor went to stick with her uncle for 3 months and when she returned she approached police. tnn
