2 peddlers held, 16.7kg poppy husk seized

CHANDIGARH: In a crackdown against drug peddlers, Haryana Police have arrested two individuals, including a provider, in Sirsa district and recovered 16.7kg of 'doda post' (poppy husk).


A spokesman of the police division said a blockade was once put in place by way of a team of Odhan police station close to Rohidawali village. A suspicious person, sporting a bag, attempted to flee after seeing police celebration at the blockade. Acting swiftly, police nabbed him. When policemen searched him they discovered 16.7kg poppy husk from his ownership.


Police said the accused was once recognized as Khatu Ram, hailing from Lakhu Head. After inquiring concerning the title of providers, police also arrested Mukand of Sahuwala village. A case has been registered against them.
