BENGALURU: Four youths were killed and 7 others injured after a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) hit the van they were travelling in close to Kannamangalapalya Gate, Devanahalli, on KIA Road on Tuesday night time.
The deceased, all flower decorators from RT Nagar, were heading in opposition to Nandi Hills to celebrate a friend’s birthday when the MUV rear-ended their Maruti Omni. Sundaresh, 22, Venkatesh, 24, Satish, 24 and Vikas, 23 were all citizens of Cholanayakanahalli close to RT Nagar. Their friends Hemath, 24 (who was once at the wheel), Ajith, 23, Bharath, 22 and Avinash, 23, the birthday boy, were injured within the mishap.
Madhu, who was once driving the Innova, his brother Manoj and their good friend Indhudhar too sustained severe injuries. The brothers are citizens of Horamavu.
Police mentioned the incident occurred around middle of the night and all the injured were rushed to a nearby health center, where four of them were declared useless on arrival. The survivors were admitted in 3 personal hospitals in Devanahalli the city and a couple of of them are crucial, they added.
Preliminary probe revealed Indhudhar, who runs a resort close to Nandi Hills, got a call from his staff, saying some folks were developing bother within the resort. Indhudhar in conjunction with his friends Madhu and Manoj left for the resort and Madhu was once driving the auto in a rash and negligent way. Minutes after the MUV crossed the Trumpet Interchange on KIA Road, it entered a poorly lit stretch. Madhu failed to note the auto ahead and rammed into it.
While Madhu sustained severe chest injuries, his brother Manoj fractured his leg; Indhudhar sustained minor injuries.
While both the cars were seized for additional investigation, the bodies were passed over to the households after postmortem at Akash Hospital in Devanahalli.
