COIMBATORE: The Erode taluk police on Friday arrested 4 men, together with a police constable, from Coimbatore for kidnapping a Tirupur-based businessman and pocketing crores of rupees as ransom. They have been recognized as Sundara Murugesh, a realtor, Sivakumar, a attorney, Eswaran, a head constable, and Anadaraj Sebastian. They had abducted A Balasaravanan of MG Pudur Second Street in Tirupur, a gold broker.
"The victim owned some homes at Kullegoundenpudur near Tirupur, which was beneath a civil dispute. Murugesh approached him and confident to solve the dispute with the assistance of some lawyers. He asked Balasaravanan to attend near the Thindal Bus Stand in Erode at 4pm on November 11 and abducted him, a police officer mentioned.
