Court sends Maitreya Bhattacharya to Kol hosp

KOLKATA: Maitreya Bhattacharya, the 38-year-old man who was discovered dwelling with the corpse of his mom for 18 days at their Salt Lake home, will have to be sent to Kolkata Pavlov Hospital for remedy, a Salt Lake court said on Saturday.

Based at the findings of a bunch of psychiatrists at NRS Medical College and Hospital who conducted a psychometric research of Maitreya on Friday, said he was mentally unstable and wanted proper scientific consideration, Bidhannagar police then approached the Salt Lake court and after going in the course of the check reviews and the recommendations made through the medical doctors, the magistrate handed an order to send him to Kolkata Pavlov Hospital.


Incidentally, Partho De, the person who had lived with the corpse of her sister and two pet canines for 6 months in 2015, was also sent to the same health facility.


“The magistrate has ordered to send Maitreya Bhattacharya to Kolkata Pavlov Hospital for remedy. We will shift him to Kolkata Pavlov health facility from Bidhannagar sub divisional health facility on Sunday morning,” said Amit Javalgi, the deputy commissioner of Bidhannagar City Police.


Last Sunday evening, police got a tip through a family buddy of the Bhattacharyas in Beadon Street that Maitreya had been dwelling with his 77-year-old mom Krishna Bhattacharya’s corpse. A workforce from Bidhannagar police station went to his Salt Lake space and taken out her mom’s frame past due on Sunday. Maitreya was taken to Bidhannagar police station soon after and was later admitted to Bidhannagar sub divisional health facility.
