NEW DELHI: Four girls of a Delhi safe haven house, the place women were allegedly abused via its staff, were arrested on Saturday, police said. During an inspection of a private safe haven house in Dwarka on Thursday, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) discovered that ladies at the house were seriously punished via the staff for now not following laws. Some teenage women alleged that the female staff put chilli powder of their personal parts as punishment and so they were compelled to have chilli powder, the DCW had said.
Following the revelation, an FIR was registered and 4 girls were arrested. One them is a welfare officer, one in-charge and two house moms. They have been sent to judicial custody and further investigation into the topic is underway, the police said.
DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal said the behaviour towards the girls was unacceptable and puzzled why the kid welfare committee was now not able to seek out it all through its inspections.
She requested the authorities to not separate the girls via transferring them to any other safe haven house and alter the staff as a substitute.
Maliwal had said a workforce of DCW counsellors in addition to the police have been deputed in the house 24/7 to verify the protection of the children. The DCW will proceed to monitor the condition of the house.
Earlier, the DCW had arrange an expert committee in consultation with the Delhi government to inspect quite a lot of personal and government-run safe haven homes and give tips for his or her development.
