Drink-drive case: Car first hit Parama road divider

KOLKATA: Forensic professionals investigating the hit-and-run case involving internal designer Aditi Agarwal on Thursday said it's now nearly clear that the car had first hit the street divider close to the Parama carrier lane, ahead of it swerved and hit the person who died on the spot. Agarwal was despatched to an afternoon’s judicial custody by the Alipore court.

The public prosecutor on Thursday sought an extra day for furnishing the police stories in the case. Aditi’s defence attorneys, then again, argued that this was not anything wanting harassment and moved her bail petition.

Agarwal was arrested in the drink-driving case on November 25, wherein a 48-year-old man was killed.

Sources in the forensic department and police said they have been able to head thru a couple of CCTV footages. They said that they had widely studied the damages to the car ahead of arriving at a consensus on the precise sequence of occasions leading to the twist of fate. “We shall compare the mechanical test stories of the car with the autopsy document and the clinical document of Agarwal on the earliest,” a source said.

Police maintained they've evidence suggesting that Agarwal had consumed alcohol — several notches above the permissible restrict — ahead of taking the driver’s seat. Police had earlier said that the car Agarwal was riding did not have any mechanical failure. They said locals had showed that the lady was riding in a rash and negligent method.
