GURUGRAM: Police commissioner Ok Ok Rao on Friday said the Haryana govt has given permission to further examine the alleged land scam case registered in opposition to Robert Vadra, brother-in-law of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, former leader minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and others.

“We had sought permission from the state govt after the case used to be registered. The government have granted us the permission, so we're investigating the alleged land scam further,” Rao said at a news meet within the city.


Surender Sharma, a resident of Tauru, had filed a police criticism alleging that an organization belonging to Vadra’s Skylight Hospitality had cheated people and the government. Following this, a case used to be registered underneath in opposition to Vadra, Hooda and others on September 1 at Kherki Daula police station underneath Sections of 420(cheating), 120 (hatching conspiracy) and 467, 468, 471(forgery) of the IPC.


After the BJP came to power in Haryana, it set up a one-man commission of Justice S N Dhingra on May 14, 2015, to probe the alleged land scam. The commission probed the alleged irregularities within the grant of licences by way of the department of town and nation planning to a couple companies, together with the ones of Robert Vadra, son-in-law of then Congress president Sonia Gandhi, in Sector 83 for growing industrial colonies.


Deals were allegedly inked for land in Shikohpur, Sihi, Kherki Daula and Sikanderpur Badha villages. IANS
