HYDERABAD: Thanks to the poor quality of the published voter slips, the map of polling stations on the back of the slip isn’t helpful, as it is barely visible.
Many electorate complained that the Election Commission(EC) should were careful and published the voter slips correctly so that it might be of a few use.
“The Election Commission came up with a great concept to lend a hand electorate to find their polling stations. However, they failed in its implementation. I were given my voter slip today and can hardly ever see anything else on the map. The phrases are tough to comprehend and directions are lacking,” said V Narayana, a voter from Serilingampally constituency.
Seconding with Narayana, M Aruna, a voter from Kukatpally constituency, said “One look at the map on my voter slip and somebody would be able to see the shoddy paintings of officials. The map is of no need to me because the print is truly dangerous.”
The GHMC officials requested electorate to test the polling station map on the ‘Naa Vote’ app if the one on their voting slips is not clear.
“There is not any time to reprint the voter slips. We request other folks to discuss with the app to know instructions to their respective polling stations,” said T Venkanna, Returning Officer, Serilingampally.
Few electorate also complained that members of one family were not given the similar polling station and added that travelling to a couple of station may just discourage many from casting their votes.
“While my wife and I have to solid our vote in a single polling station, both my daughters have to move to some different station to get entry to their vote proper. However, it isn't possible to visit one polling station and take my daughter to some other as my place of work is not closed on December 7,” said A Srinivas Rao from Malkajgiri constituency.
In the month of November, GHMC commissioner M Dana Kishore had said that as an alternative of small photo voter slips, the electorate gets a large slip with snapshots of the polling station on Google Maps. He said that they've decided to enhance the design of the electorate’ slip to make it extra perceptible, informative and useful.
