MUZAFFARPUR: Sub-inspector (SI) Manoj Kumar Nirala posted at Muzaffarpur Town police station was once arrested from a resort while he was once eating liquor on Friday afternoon.
The resort from the place the SI has been arrested is barely 1.8 metres away from the police station.
Confirming the arrest, Muzaffarpur SSP Manoj Kumar said, “On a tip-off about accumulating of some anti-social components, a raid was once performed at Laxmi resort beneath the Town police station house. The SI was once found there in a room eating liquor. He was once in an instant arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation.”
The SI will face departmental motion in addition to penal motion for violating the prohibition law, said the SSP.
“He was once saved in custody for some hours and taken to sadar hospital for a scientific exam. Later, he was once produced earlier than the courtroom of leader judicial magistrate, which forwarded him to 14 days judicial custody,” said the Town police station SHO.
This isn't the first time that a police officer has been arrested or sacked for eating liquor. Six police team of workers had been arrested in Muzaffarpur over the last two years.
