Tsunami alert lifted after undersea quake off Philippines

MANILA, PHILIPPINES: A powerful undersea earthquake struck off the southern Philippines on Saturday and the pinnacle of the country's quake-monitoring agency advised other folks in a southeastern province to avoid beaches in case of a tsunami.
