GHAZIABAD: A 77-year-old guy, who used to be in judicial custody since December 25 after he allegedly molested a minor woman inside the lift of a highrise in Indirapuram, died in a central authority health facility in Ghaziabad on Thursday. The accused, Vasu Bhargava, were booked on a grievance lodged by the oldsters of a minor woman, a Class III student.
Bhargava were lodged at Dasna prison after his arrest. Jail government rushed him to MMG Hospital on Thursday afternoon when his health condition deteriorated. He died during treatment on the health facility. “The affected person used to be gasping for breath and had no pulse when he used to be brought to the health facility. We attempted to restore him in the emergency ward but had been unsuccessful despite our efforts. The precise reason behind demise will probably be ascertained from the post-mortem file,” health facility superintendent Ravinder Rana advised TOI .
Bhargava were living along with his circle of relatives in a third-floor rented apartment in a highrise in Indirapuram for the previous seven years. As per the FIR registered at Indirapuram police station, the molestation took place at the afternoon of December 24. Bhargava had entered a lift in which the minor woman and a pal of hers had been going to their respective apartments after playing in the housing society’s compound. The woman had rushed home and complained to her grandmother about being touched inappropriately inside the lift.
Bhargava’s members of the family advised TOI that he had dementia after he met with an twist of fate just about five years ago. “He used to put out of your mind things. When inside a lift, he used to stay on pressing buttons regardless of the floor to which he meant to head,” his 44-year-old son, Vishal, advised TOI.
