Agra: BJP plans show of strength for PM rally

AGRA: The BJP is planning an enormous display of energy right through its January 9 rally at Agra’s Kothi Meena Bazar flooring, from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick-start the party campaign for the upcoming normal elections. The party is mobilizing employees from 23 meeting constituencies of western UP. Over 25,000 party employees will participate in the rally, which is expected to draw just about 2 lakh other folks.

To oversee the arrangements, chief minister Yogi Adityanath visited town on Friday and held a meeting of senior party cadres. Apart from the CM, the assembly was attended by party’s group secretary Bhawani Singh, state normal secretary Govind N Shukla, party’s district and city presidents, MLAs and MPs.

PM Modi will cope with the rally at town's Kothi Meena Bazar flooring. Interestingly, he had addressed a huge election rally on the similar flooring in November 2013 to start the campaign for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Agra has proved fortunate for the party which won 9 Assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats from right here.

According to a senior party chief, employees from 9 Vidhan Sabhas from Agra, five from Mathura, one from Etah, three from Hathras and five from Firozabad had been requested to mobilize other folks for the rally.

The BJP has also deliberate a chain of public outreach programmes after the PM’s public rally.

During the campaign, party employees will meet citizens of each constituency and put BJP flags and stickers on their houses and also distribute hand expenses having party’s achievements.

Bike rallies may also be organised in all the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies on March 2.


CM Adityanath also performed a surprise inspection of Sikandra water works station. Mayor Naveen Jain and Agra MP Ramshanker Katheria also accompanied him.


“Ahead of the meeting ballot, we had promised to resolve water drawback of Agra by bringing Ganga water into town. The promise will be in spite of everything fulfilled on January 9 when PM Modi will inaugurate the Gangajal challenge. People of Agra will soon delivery getting top quality water supply”.
