Army is a way of life: Major Arya

Nagpur: Terming the Indian Army as one of the crucial powerful and moral institution of the rustic, former primary Gaurav Arya inspired scholars of Prahar Military School to join the military.
“Army isn't powerful as a result of its guns however as a result of its morality. Come what might, it's the only institution that has always given a favorable consequence. Honour, loyalty and tradition are the three quintessential qualities that define a military group of workers and kids keen on joining it should have high regards for it,” he said.

Arya and retired lieutenant common Ravindra Thodge had been the manager guest and guest of honour respectively at the inaugural rite of the weeklong silver jubilee birthday party of Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha, which used to be held at Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh on Thursday.

Both the army veterans narrated their wartime stories and left everyone within the audience feel pleased with the soldiers posted on the border.

Arya recounted one such story of 1962 Indo-China war fought at Rezang La where a troop of 122 infantrymen and the officer fought and killed virtually 3,000 Chinese infantrymen with all that used to be there with them.

“On that day, 114 Indian infantrymen had been martyred and five had been made prisoners of war. They fought until they had ammunitions left. After that, they fought with their naked arms, however none of them gave up despite knowing that they would be killed,” he said.


“This war showed what the army is product of. These stories of valour should be as regards to each and every Indian’s heart,” he said.


Thodge held dedication and braveness as the two main qualities to serve within the military. “Without it, you will haven't any conviction to your work. One needs to have braveness to sacrifice blood for kinfolk, country and a dedication to do it all over again,” he said.


“It is an elite way of living, the one where nothing else issues on the battlefield with the exception of for the person combating beside you. The urgency to kill your enemy before it kills you is what the army is all about. It makes friendships thicker than blood,” he said.
