BENGALURU: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara Tuesday accused the BJP of making a fresh bid to topple the JDS-Congress coalition government in the state, asserting that it could no longer be successful. As the confrontation between the BJP and Congress over the alleged toppling game intensified, Parameshwara claimed that efforts have been underway to prepare a gathering of his birthday celebration's disgruntled MLAs with BJP president Amit Shah.
"BJP is an expert in horse trading. They have already proved it last time. This time also they tried (to unsettle the government) but they failed in their attempt. Again, they are making a fresh bid," the deputy leader minister alleged.
Speaking to newshounds right here, Parameshwara charged that there were efforts to woo 'some MLAs' from his birthday celebration, Congress, but he refused to disclose their names.
"Some MLAs are there and makes an attempt are being made to prepare their meetings with the BJP national president.
"We have data that they are making makes an attempt (to topple the federal government) but they are going to no longer be successful," he said.
"Government is secure and there is not any need to panic," he asserted.
Parameshwara's fee comes amid reviews that disgruntled Congress MLA, Ramesh Jarkiholi, who used to be dropped from the ministry in the contemporary reshuffle, has been camping in Delhi.
He has remained incommunicado since he used to be got rid of from the ministry.
His brother Satish Jarkiholi, a minister in Kumaraswamy government, Tuesday said he too got here to know that Ramesh used to be in Delhi.
He didn't rule out the potential for some other miffed MLAs being with him.
The BJP on Monday had maintained that it used to be no longer looking to dislodge the coalition government in Karnataka while the Congress had claimed it has proof of 'horse buying and selling' of its MLAs, alleging that they have been each 'offered' Rs 25 crore to 30 crore.
State BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa had demanded that Congress produce evidence to substantiate its claim.
Congress legislature birthday celebration chief Siddaramaiah had answered, pronouncing he would produce proof on the "appropriate time."
