BSRTC to introduce 90 buses on 13 routes

MUZAFFARPUR: Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has geared up to introduce around 90 buses from far flung spaces of north Bihar situated alongside the Indo-Nepal border to Patna.

BSRTC officials stated a bidding procedure has already been initiated to rent buses from private operators and purchase some. The buses are proposed to function underneath Public- Private- Partnership (PPP) mode.

BSRTC regional supervisor SN Jha stated, “The plan to introduce buses from north Bihar districts has been devised according to chief minister Nitish Kumar’s imaginative and prescient of reaching the state capital inside 5 to six hours even from some distance flung spaces of the state.”


“The buses will run from quite a lot of places like West Champaran, East Champaran, Shoehar, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and Madhubani districts. The bidding procedure has been initiated and is likely to be finished by way of mid February,” he stated.


Jha added, “We have invited applications from private bus operators to rent them. We have made up our minds to run those buses on 13 routes. No buses are working on 12 out of these 13 routes.”
