NEW DELHI: The upcoming Budget could have provision for Rs four,000-crore capital infusion for public sector normal insurance coverage businesses to shore up their capital.
The Budget 2019-20 could be offered on February 1.
According to sources, the Department of Financial Services sought Rs four,000 crore within the Budget for fund infusion in three insurance coverage companies- National Insurance Company, Oriental Insurance Company and United India Insurance Company.
Depending on the capital that Budget supplies, particular person allocation could be made, sources added.
This capital is needed to beef up their financial well being.

Their combined web price is Rs nine,243 crore, with overall worker strength of around 44,000 spread over 6,000 workplaces.
In 2017, state-owned New India Assurance Company and General Insurance Corporation of India were listed on bourses.
Initial estimates recommend that the combined entity shaped through merging the 3 insurers would be the biggest non-life insurance coverage company in India, valued at Rs 1.2-1.5 lakh crore.
