THANE: A fireplace utterly destroyed a chemical manufacturing unit at Badlapur near Mumbai on Friday morning, a fireplace brigade legit said. Chief fireplace officer of the Kulgaon Badlapur Municipal Council Ramesh Patil said there have been no casualties.
The fireplace broke out at a manufacturing unit positioned within the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) space about 10.15 am, he said.
Ten fireplace engines have been rushed to the spot and the fire-fighting operation used to be on even after more than three hours, he said.
The cause of the blaze used to be yet to be ascertained, Patil said.
The firemen stopped the flames from spreading to the adjacent material manufacturing manufacturing unit, he said.
A few drums of chemical substances within the manufacturing unit premises exploded, he said.
