LUCKNOW/GORAKHPUR: Three officials of Deoria prison have been suspended on Monday and a departmental inquiry initiated towards two others for laxity. The state additionally ordered that don Atiq Ahmad, a former MP, be shifted to the high-security Bareilly district prison.
The suspended prison officials are deputy jailor Deo Narayan Yadav, head warden Munna Pandey and warden Rakesh Sharma. Inquiry has been initiated towards prison superintendent DK Pandey and jailor Mukesh Katiyar.
The moves got here impulsively after Deoria DM Amit Kishore and SP N Kolanchi raided Deoria prison past due Sunday evening after real estate broker Mohit Jaiswal filed an FIR on December 28 that he was kidnapped from Lucknow and taken to Deoria prison where he was assaulted by way of jailed don Atiq Ahmad and his aides and forced to switch his industry to them.
