BENGALURU: Under hearth for the structural flaw in a viaduct near Trinity station, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has determined to rope in an external agency to conduct a high quality audit of Metro Phase 1 civil constructions from January. Services between MG Road and Indiranagar stations are prone to resume by way of Tuesday afternoon, the company announced.
The resolution was taken after deputy leader minister G Parameshwara on Monday visited Trinity station on MG Road the place repair work is underneath option to repair a honeycomb formation (concrete misery) on pier (pillar) 155.
The products and services, which have been suspended at 8pm on Friday, have been to resume on Monday but BMRCL put it off to Tuesday. Parameshwara said the quality audit will be performed along the entire 42km community (crimson and green traces). “Repair work is progressing underneath supervision of mavens from Delhi Metro and the Indian Institute of Science. We will conduct trials and BMRCL officials will shuttle on the trains sooner than the carrier is thrown open to the general public,” the deputy CM said.
He said mavens will continue to watch the construction even after products and services resume on the affected section. “Metal pillars which were post adjacent to the pier to shore up the viaduct will be in position for another week. There’s no want to panic because the construction is completely safe,” he added.
BMRCL managing director Ajay Seth said they'll soon identify the agency to conduct the audit. “The external audit is in addition to our scheduled assessments to identify susceptible points in the constructions. The firm is predicted to finish the workout in 3 to 4 months,” he added. “The Trinity incident was the first such case but we want to take a look at other constructions in order that we will rectify the problem on the earliest,” said Seth.
Following Parameshwara’s seek advice from, BMRCL said all the concrete spaces requiring consideration have been identified and metal plates have been used to support them as an everlasting answer. “Other concrete spaces have been grouted. The effectiveness of the repair work is being verified thru nondestructive trying out, instrumentation and trials by way of trains at other speeds,” it added.
