Surat: More than 200 pet enthusiasts brought their pets at the Petathlon-2019 arranged via Animal Friends, a non-government organization, within the city on Sunday. The event used to be arranged via the NGO to create an consciousness among other people how plastic used to be endangering the lives of animals. The rally started from SVNIT circle on Surat-Dumas Road to Kargil Chowk and back.
Sudir Shah, president, Animal Friend, mentioned, “This event is held once in a year to create consciousness among other people on other issues. The topic this year used to be how plastic used to be endangering the lives of the animals. A cow dummy confirmed other people how plastic waste eaten via the cows can create problems for them. In the previous, we had held events on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and other issues.”
People brought their horses, other breeds of canines, cats and even lizards to the Petathlon-2019.
