Several filmmakers have tried to shoot films in a single steady shot. This means no digicam cuts, no editing, and no room for actors to goof up, as a retake would mean reshooting all the film from the beginning. Gurgaon-based actor Hemwant Tiwari’s directorial debut 'Lomad' is one such strive. What makes it unique is that it's the first feature-length black-and-white film on the planet to be shot this fashion. Hemwant, who used to live near Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon, has gave the impression as some of the leads in 2018’s world sci-fi TV show, 'Medinah'. He says, “I had watched Alfred Hitchcock’s 1948 film, 'Rope'. At that point, film reels were simplest 10 mins long, so he couldn’t shoot the film in one shot. I always sought after to recreate that. Since then, many other films have completed this, but no one had been in a position to do it in black and white.”
Hemwant was once taking pictures for 'Medinah' in Qatar in 2017 when he began writing the tale of this film, and the taking pictures came about late remaining year in Mumbai. “It’s a 93-minute feature-length film set in Haryana. I grew up in Gurgaon and this place is just about my middle. The story I sought after to show – that of a survival-themed crime thriller – fits this part of the rustic rather well. The film’s solid and staff contains virtually solely of inexperienced persons, consisting of FTII graduates. Hemwant is taking part in the lead role. “It wasn’t tricky for me to get actors and staff individuals.
