GURUGRAM: To push for the crowning glory of Dwarka Expressway and transferring of the toll plaza from Kherki Daula, members of the Dwarka Expressway (DXP) Welfare Association plan to head on an indefinite starvation strike from January 10.
While 10 people will start the starvation strike in Sector 84 close to Bella Vista flats, the protest is more likely to see participation from citizens in the new sectors, Manesar business property and villages like Manesar.
“It is unfortunate that the citizens who have spent their lifetime income to shop for a house in new Gurugram house or across Dwarka Expressway want to sit on a starvation strike with the intention to be heard,” stated Pradip Rahi, normal secretary, DXP welfare affiliation.
The Dwarka Expressway undertaking used to be conceptualised in 2006 and an MoU used to be signed between the Delhi govt and Haryana govt in 2007 with a time limit of 2010. However, eight years have passed but the undertaking continues to be incomplete.
After the BJP govt got here to energy in 2014, it made a number of guarantees for early crowning glory of the undertaking. “The state govt has failed to finish the undertaking regardless of more than one assurances and if it is not finished ahead of the approaching elections, it's going to be stuck some other few years after the brand new govt comes in,” stated Prakhar Sahay, some other member of the affiliation.
It is almost the similar scenario with the removing of Kherki Daula toll plaza. While the state govt has made a number of guarantees for its removing, there has been no concrete motion at the flooring. “Kherki Daula is a day-to-day nuisance for people dwelling in the new sectors and Manesar and no person from the state or the Central govt is bothered to get to the bottom of the issue,” stated Lokesh Sharma, a resident from New Gurugram.
