KOLKATA: A shocking video of Alipurduar district magistrate in West Bengal thrashing a person - accused of allegedly making derogatory comments in opposition to his wife on social media - within the police station in the presence of police officers has surfaced on-line.
Binod Kumar Sarkar had earlier claimed that he's a "Facebook friend of the wife of Alipurduar DM Nikhil Nirmal". On Facebook chat, he had some altercation with Nirmal's wife Nandini Kishan.

Soon after Binod made some derogatory comments in opposition to Nandini, Falakata police picked him up from his house and took him to the police station. The DM reached there with his wife and thrashed the person black and blue.
In the five mins and 52 seconds video, the DM slapped Binod 10 occasions and kicked him too, while his wife Nandini also thrashed and threatened him in front of the cops.
With the question being raised if the DM has the the right to beat a person inside police station, state leader secretary Malay De has were given the document of the incident.
The administration is due to take action in opposition to the DM.
