JD(U) not to back triple talaq bill in RS

PATNA: JD(U) has outrightly adverse its best friend BJP on major religious issues, including triple talaq, Ram Mandir, Sabarimala temple in addition to Article 370.

Maintaining that the variation of opinion on such issues is not going to have an effect on the alliance, JD(U) secretary general KC Tyagi on Friday said the celebration’s MPs in Rajya Sabha will both walk out or vote against triple talaq invoice.

“When Samata Party joined the NDA in 1990, Article 370, uniform civil code (UCC) and Ayodhya weren't on the nationwide agenda of governance for the alliance. BJP can spotlight those issues with a view to take care of its core constituency, however we are not part of it. Socialist leaders like JD(U) nationwide president Nitish Kumar are adverse to Article 370 and UCC and want the issue of Ram Mandir to be resolved both via judiciary or consensus between Hindu and Muslim communities,” Tyagi instructed TOI over phone.

“Similarly, Nitish ji had written to Justice (retd) Balbir Singh Chauhan, chairman of Law Commission in 2017, that triple talaq is a gentle issue and needs to be addressed with wider consultations. We might not be with the central government on triple talaq invoice within the Rajya Sabha. Our MPs will both walk out or vote against the invoice,” he said.

Speaking on the Sabarimala temple, Tyagi said the Supreme Court determination should be revered via all. “It could also be a matter of gender equality,” he said.

When asked if the variation of opinion on such issues will have an effect on the alliance, Tyagi said: “We range from BJP and its management is aware of it pretty well. So, it will have no have an effect on on our alliance. It is a well known incontrovertible fact that JD(U) follows socialist ideologies whilst BJP follows the Jansangh and Hindutva motion. But it does no longer make any difference in our electoral alliance.”

BJP also revered JD(U)’s difference of opinion on certain issues. “It is not imperative for all the alliance partners to have identical views on all issues; another way, we'd have been one celebration altogether. BJP has its personal views on certain issues and we continue to paintings on them. Other allies might range but it surely does no longer imply it affects our alliance in any way,” BJP’s state vice-president Devesh Kumar said.
