KOLKATA: Arch rivals BJP and Trinamool are on the similar web page when it comes to opposing a bandh call by way of business unions.
“We will strengthen the government that discharges its responsibilities by way of opposing the bandh. We need work tradition, building. The Centre is opposed to bandh, so is the state,” Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh stated on Monday, four months after his party referred to as a state-wide bandh in Bengal to protest against the killing of two students at Uttar Dinajpur’s Islampur in “police firing” in September, 2018.
Ghosh’s remark, which came two days after he wanted leader minister Mamata Banerjee on her birthday on Saturday, has raised eyebrows in political circles. West Bengal Pradesh Congress president Somen Mitra cited Ghosh’s anti-bandh remark to establish that BJP in Bengal was playing the second one mess around to Trinamool. “BJP and Trinamool are on the similar web page on the bandh, referred to as by way of Left business unions.
