KOLKATA: Police on Saturday arrested a 31-year-old Nigerian actor from his rented Lake Terrace condominium for overstaying in India with a faux visa.
The actor, Imona Oselene Enabulu, had come to Kolkata to shoot for a Bengali film ‘Khelechhi Ajgubi’.
Cops said the SCO (Security Control Organisation) gained data that Enabulu had arrived in Kolkata from New Delhi on January 4 and has a faux Indian visa. Based on the data, SCO officers raided the Lake Terrace condominium where he had put up. His passport obviously indicated that he had forged visa extensions two times.
Police said Enabulu had entered India on February 21, 2013 through New Delhi airport but his visa had expired on May 10, 2013. Subsequently, he forged the visa two times — in 2013 and 2014. He had forged the seal and signature of the joint secretary (house) of Government of West Bengal.
Police said Enabulu has been implicated no longer most effective below Section 14(a) of the Foreigner Amendment Act 2004, but a number of other penal sections in the case of forgery and cheating.
