Noida gives traders 3 days to remove marble market

NOIDA: A team of Noida Authority visited Sector 48 on Friday and requested the marble buyers to remove encroachment within three days, in line with NGT order. The complete market has arise illegally on Noida Authority’s green belt house in the closing ten years.

The Authority team warned the squatters that action will likely be taken in opposition to them if they did not follow the order.

Noida Authority had evolved the sector and also earmarked around seven acre land for green belt in line with its Master Plan 2021. However, over time most of the green house used to be encroached with marble buyers, godowns and showrooms. Local citizens approached the Authority and administration to free the land however that didn't yield any end result.

A resident of the sector said that a petition used to be filed in National Green Tribunal to free the land from squatters in 2017. In August 2018 the NGT directed the Noida Authority to remove the entire encroachment in the house of green belt, except those marked in Master Plan. “Land which is cleared from the encroachment shall straight away be restored as green belt,” the NGT said. However, the next month a bunch of buyers moved an software in NGT searching for a stay on its previous order. The tribunal heard the topic and gave them three months to clear the encroachment.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, OSD Noida Authority, said that the buyers were instructed to remove the structures within three days. “Authority will clear the encroachment and expand green belt on the earmarked land. Actions will likely be taken in opposition to the violators,” he said.
