Pataliputra University to spend Rs 15 crore on library

PATNA: The Pataliputra University (PPU) will soon arrange a library at a price of Rs 15 crore to cater to the needs of academics, researchers and scholars. A proposal in this regard used to be approved at a syndicate assembly of the academic council and other bodies held underneath the chairmanship of vice-chancellor (VC) Gulab Chand Ram Jaiswal on the university headquarters on Wednesday.

Several other selections for streamlining educational activities of PPU and its constituent schools had been taken on the assembly. The syndicate also gave its nod to the proposal of starting interviews of the shortlisted visitor college contributors by means of January-end.


“The syndicate approved every other proposal to allow candidates, who have cleared pre-PhD tests from other universities, to get themselves registered with PPU for pursuing PhD. However, they will be must post a no objection certificates from their parent university,” the VC mentioned, including the government’s decision to hand over eight.05 acres of land to PPU for construction of a new construction and PG departments used to be also welcomed.


Besides, proposals for implementation of biometric attendance device in schools, status quo of a pay fixation committee, a promotion mobile and a purchasing committee of the university had been also approved.
