Bhubaneswar: Saheed Nagar Police on Sunday arrested three persons on charges of assaulting Kapilendra Pradhan, a journalist with a vernacular daily, in a cinema hall on Saturday. The accused had been identified as Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, Subrat Biswal and Ananta Samantaray, police added.
Pradhan alleged that the group of youths attacked him when he spoke out towards their objectionable remarks at women throughout the hall. Police said Biswal and Samantaray had been former scholars of a number one university right here while Mohapatra remains to be learning. “We arrested them at the foundation of the journalist’s grievance. Legal action is being initiated towards them,” DCP Anup Kumar Sahoo said.
