Teacher, pupil ratio to be streamlined

RANCHI: The state school education and literacy department has now begun step sensible inquiry from all districts to reshuffle matter specific lecturers in those schools upon getting lawsuits from submit graduate lecturers, who were appointed in plus-two schools of having no students to teach.

Recently, Pushpa Prasad, a trade trainer at S S Plus II High School of Joram, Simdega, wrote to the dept and shared her issues of how where the place she is posted has no enrolment of scholars in her phase. Officials in the department concede that such lawsuits are coming from other places as neatly, prompting them to launch the drive.

Talking to TOI, education secretary A P Singh, stated: “It has been dropped at the attention of the dept that PGT lecturers posted in many faculties do not have students to teach. In Ranchi, the Plus II school in Mesra has the same factor. Since the bigger chunk of over 600 Plus II schools in the state opened after 2015, the enrolment number in each matter isn't very high, rendering many PGT trainer appointments useless while students in lots of other schools continue with out matter lecturers.”

While the usual requisition is for 11 matter lecturers in each Plus II schools, the dept has discovered that in some schools, lecturers have no students to teach while the placement is reverse in others, with large number of students and no lecturers across the state.

To cope with the problem, Singh has written to director of secondary education to organize a list of matter lecturers posted in schools and the requisitioned posts in each of these schools so that sources are put into optimal use.

“When we began the Plus II degree choices in state run schools, we modelled the same on CBSE schools like Kendriya Vidyalayas. But those schools were most often location specific with each school having over 500 students,” Singh stated.


“Since that roughly enrolment isn't possible in state run schools, we've got deliberate on creating a database of trainer need and surplus across the state and reshuffling the lecturers accordingly,” he added.


The department will be taking insights like class dimension, number of students and lecturers, educating hours and the to be had infrastructure of CBSE schools into consideration for the method.


Additionally, a separate document of scholars enrolled in tribal languages and the supply of such lecturers will be prepared, so that each school having students of these languages enrolled may have at least one matter trainer dedicated to them.


“We have sources at disposal but they are scattered and unused, inflicting gaps. From the next session, students across Plus Two schools could have the specified number of matter lecturers,” Singh stated.
