DHARWAD: Teachers play crucial role in the process of country building and those meaning to be lecturers must have the commitment to position of their perfect for the society, stated former director general of police Dr D V Guruprasad.

Speaking on the valedictory of the induction programme for newly recruited assistant professors of political science on the Karnataka State Higher Education Academy here on Sunday, he stated that the society depends on steerage from lecturers in all fields. “It turns into the duty of lecturers to take the society in the proper path by guiding scholars properly. Teachers must be, excluding being scholars, empathetic against their scholars,” Guruprasad stated.


He stated that both police and lecturers have the same task of disciplining the society. “While the police are being considered a vital evil, the teachers are considered vital. The lecturers must be exemplary not handiest in instructing but in addition in personality,” he stated.


Academy director S M Shivaprasad stated the task of the academy is to sensitize newly recruited lecturers on what is predicted of them.
