BENGALURU: Traffic police, who are busy managing motorists on a daily basis, had a unique venture on Sunday: cleaning up their police stations and fixing signboards and signals.
In the backdrop of complaints about traffic police stations being in dangerous shape, workforce from all 44 traffic police stations around the city took brooms of their fingers and swept their offices clean.
The workforce also wiped clean footpaths, rectified signboards, sign lighting fixtures and traffic police islands (chowkis) of their jurisdiction.
Additional commissioner of police (traffic) P Harishekaran mentioned, “I visited a few police stations lately and found that now not the whole lot was once so as and clean. Also, there were a few signboards and signals that had been defunct. A verbal exchange was once made to rectify them. This is any other try to make our police stations look good, extra organised and, after all, people-friendly.”
