PANAJI: The government has seemed against the Konkan Railway Corporation (KRC) Ltd to bail it out of a scenario where it will be forced to close a three-kilometre national highway stretch from Cortalim to Verna to be able to facilitate quicker finishing touch of the brand new Zuari bridge, but which will give upward push to visitors diversionsand resultant chaos and congestion of different roads in the neighborhood.
The state intends to construct a highway parallel to the KRC observe for Margao-Panaji visitors. If approved, automobiles travelling to Panaji will see their commuting distance build up through less than a kilometer. While Panaji-Margao visitors might be diverted by means of Quelossim, increasing travelling distance through 4km.
Dhavalikar inspected the proposed path and expressed happiness on seeing the exchange path. “We will get started the drawings in the coming 4 to six days after which we will get started the paintings. Nothing else needs to be finished. People won't face hardships,” he said.
Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha and Parsekar had been also provide for the inspection. Saldanha insisted that until January 16, no diversion must be notified and the PWD minister confident her that PWD would shut NH17 most effective once the exchange routes had been ready for vehicular visitors.
“We must remove some bottlenecks alongside the best way. Both those routes might be a method,” said Dhavalikar even as he said he was yet to take a last resolution. He said most effective once the overall alignment can be finished in per week’s time after which per week later, the construction of the brand new highway would begin.
“We will talk about this with different ministers and provide it before the CM,” he said.
