Vadodara to host World Congress 2019

VADODARA: Around 600 doctors from across the nation in addition to around the world will participate in a three-day World Congress -2019 to be organized by the Medical College Baroda Alumni Association from Friday.

The World Congress will mark the 70 years of Baroda Medical College (BMC). It shall be one of the biggest ever alumni meet that may see the presence of nearly 150 NRI doctors settled in several parts of the sector.

The tournament shall be inaugurated by Dr Damodar Nene, who's an alumnus from the primary batch of the BMC on Saturday.

Usually, after an opening of each five years the alumni affiliation organizes the conference. However this time, it is after an opening of 10 years that the government clinical faculty is website hosting the Congress that shall be held with the theme of ‘futuristic drugs’.

“We can have alumni proper from the primary batch to the new pass-outs who will participate on this Congress. The BMC is the oldest clinical faculty of Gujarat which had made humble beginnings with the primary batch of 40 scholars who handed out in 1954. Presently, after approval from the Medical Council of India, we're operating the primary batch of 250 scholars,” stated dean Dr A T Leuva.


“During the conference, we can have 38 experts talks through which our alumni will share their experience in their respective fields. Also, the winners of the essay competition that used to be organized for college students shall be felicitated. There will also be a ability evening where our alumni will show off their skills,” stated vice-dean Dr Yogesh Marfatia.
