Veteran B'desh politician Syed Ashraful Islam dies of lung cancer

DHAKA: Former Bangladesh minister and veteran Awami League leader Syed Ashraful Islam has died of lung most cancers.

Islam, who was once public management minister within the previous Sheikh Hasina Cabinet, died at a clinic in Thailand.

The 68-year-old former Awami League normal secretary had been suffering from advanced lung most cancers.

The veteran flesh presser passed away at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok on Thursday night, his cousin Kabir Hossain advised the Dhaka Tribune.

His body shall be delivered to Dhaka on Saturday.

Islam is survived via a daughter. He was once present process treatment at the Bangkok clinic for the previous few months.

Islam was once the eldest son of Bangladesh's founder Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's shut affiliate and nationwide leader Syed Nazrul Islam who had served as the nation's appearing president all over the 1971 liberation struggle.
