BHUBANESWAR: Chandrasekharpur Police on Monday arrested a early life on fees of making an attempt to withdraw Rs 12 crore from the account of a Delhi-based mining corporate lately.
The accused used to be identified as Jyoti Ranjan Beuria, often referred to as Golden because of his penchant for dressed in gold embellishes.

DCP Anup Kumar Sahoo stated the accused had befriended the Delhi company’s proprietor Charanjit Singh Grewal and offered himself as a big financer. Without verifying his antecedents Grewal decided to strike a business deal with Beuria, who promised him to give a loan of Rs 110 crore. As promised, Beuria gave a cheque of Rs 110 cheque to Grewal, who, in flip, issued 11 safety cheques, payable from April 1, 2020, to April 1, 2030, to the previous.


Before Grewal may encash the Rs 110 crore cheque, Beuria tampered with the dates of the protection cheques and attempted to take Rs 12 crore from the previous’s account. The bank, suspecting a fraud, apprised Grewal of the matter.


When Grewal deposited the Rs 110 crore cheque, it bounced. “Based on his grievance, we arrested Beuria,” Sahoo stated.


Sources stated Saheed Nagar Police had registered a case in opposition to Beuria a few years ago on fees of assaulting an Ollywood actor in a shopping center.
