Aero India show to affect 100 flights at KIA

BENGALURU: Over 100 flights will likely be affected with the runway at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) closing closed for some hours throughout Aero India and the days resulting in it.
The air show will held from February 20 to 24.

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) authorities mentioned flights operated by several carriers to and from Bengaluru were cancelled owing to air area closure. Some flights operated by AirAsia India, departing to and from Bengaluru between February 14 and February 24, were cancelled.

The runway will likely be closed from 1.30pm to 4.30pm between February 14 and 17 for aircraft observe sessions. On February 18, 19, 21, 22, 23 and 24, it'll be closed from 10am to noon and from 2pm to 5pm. On February 20, when the air show will likely be inaugurated, the airport will likely be closed from 9am to noon and from 2pm to 5pm.


“With the partial closure of KIA because of Aero India, 11 of our flights were withdrawn and 10 rescheduled from February 14 to 24. Customers booked on any of the affected flights are being refunded or accommodated on other flights,” mentioned a Vistara Spokesperson.


Departures and arrivals of several flights were behind schedule. Air India’s day by day nine.55am flight from Hyderabad to Bengaluru has been rescheduled to depart at 11.40am between February 18 and February 24.
