CHENNAI: The first huge national flag within the Chennai Division of Southern Railway was once hoisted at Chennai Central railway station on Friday.
Southern Railway basic supervisor R Okay Kulshrestha hoisted the flag within the presence of divisional railway supervisor Naveen Gulati and others. The flag is fluttering at a top of 100 feet.
As many as 75 primary stations across the country gets such huge flags , as consistent with the orders of the railway ministry.
In Southern Railway, Coimbatore, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam South and Kozhikode have already been supplied with huge flags. In addition to these railway stations, a huge national flag has been equipped at Signal & Telecommunication Workshop in Podanur. Chennai Egmore and Thrissur gets the flags soon.
