Cyclist hit by bus is critical, say doctors

KOLKATA: Doctors treating the bike owner who suffered five fractures on his proper leg after being hit through a bus at the Sarat Bose Road-Rashbehari Avenue crossing on Saturday will come to a decision on the process remedy on Monday, after an in depth check-up. His condition is important, mentioned doctors at SSKM Hospital.


The bus plying on Route No. 234 used to be racing with some other bus on the same route when the accident came about. Rabi Das (42) used to be flung off his cycle and his proper leg used to be crushed below the front wheel of the bus. He used to be first admitted at Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan, and shifted to SSKM Hospital early on Sunday.


A physician at SSKM Hospital mentioned: "His haemoglobin level was very low when he was brought to the hospital. He was given two units of blood. On Monday, his haemoglobin level will be checked again followed by multiple X-rays and the condition of the wound. After that the date and time of the surgery would be fixed."


"My uncle has two children aged 10 and 8. He is the sole earning member of the family. We just wish he recovers quickly," mentioned Subhajit Dutta, Das's nephew.
