GUWAHATI: Delhi Public School (DPS), Jorhat celebrated its annual sports programme recently. Jorhat SP Vaibhav Chandrakant Nimbalkar attended the event as the chief guest. The programme commenced with the welcome speech by way of the school most important, which used to be followed by way of the lights of the torch, a march past by way of the students and an oath-taking rite.
In his speech, Nimbalkar emphasized on the importance of sports in everyday life. A school authentic mentioned, "There were several events such as swimming, basketball, high jump, long jump, 100 and 400 metre race, two-legged race, relay race and mixed relay race during the day."
The qualifying rounds of lots of the occasions have been conducted the day prior to this. Only the finals have been held on the ultimate day. "The students displayed Taekwondo demonstration. Hula Hoop dances and aerobics were performed by the junior classes. Fun games for parents were also conducted, which added to the enjoyment of the programme. Refreshments were provided to everybody," mentioned a school authentic.
