Food poisoning: 100 hospitalised

AHMEDABAD: Over 100 individuals, essentially from Shahpur’s Halim ni Khadki house, have been admitted to the VS Hospital on Sunday night following lawsuits of meals poisoning. Another 200-odd individuals have been equipped number one remedy for diarrhoea and vomiting at the hospital. The affected individuals have been a part of a marriage rite that came about on Sunday.

Imran Khedawala, Khadia-Jamalpur MLA, said that the affected individuals have been a part of a wedding that came about at around 2 pm at the Kunwarji Lakhaji Hall close to Delhi Chakla on Sunday. “At about five pm, the guests started complaining about nausea and severe stomach issues and then they needed to be shifted to the VS Hospital for remedy,” he said, adding that majority of the affected have been girls and kids.


“We suspect the mawa (khoya) used to organize the carrot ‘halwa’ was no longer just right. We have requested the well being department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to take samples and analyse it,” said Khedawala.


Dr Kuldip Joshi, RMO of the VS Hospital, said that about 100 sufferers are undergoing remedy. “People had include symptoms of meals poisoning and corresponding remedy has been initiated. All are out of danger but can be kept beneath remark for a while,” he said. tnn
