Fractured track affects rail traffic

SURAT: Railway traffic between Sanjan and Umbergaon railway stations in South Gujarat was once affected for a couple of hours because of a minor crack in the railway monitor on Saturday. Emergency restore of the damaged monitor was once performed via Umbergaon railway group of workers and the rail traffic resumed commonplace operations within three hours.


Official assets mentioned railway group of workers right through inspection noticed that a portion of the rail monitor had a four-inch fracture. The message was once in an instant passed directly to the engineering department and trains coming near from Sanjan railway station were asked to lower their speed.


MP Sharma, station manager of Umbergaon railway station, informed TOI, “The welded joint, which attached two rail tracks, was once fractured. The engineering group of workers positioned a brand new fishplate to allow speedy and brief restore of the monitor which allowed steady motion of trains during the segment. Only two trains were delayed for about an hour. The rail traffic was once normalized within three hours.”
